Dear parents/carers,

We are looking forward to meeting with you to discuss your child’s achievements and how you can support at home. Please make your booking through Arbor, details of which were emailed to you all this week. A reminder of the dates and times below:

Tuesday 7th October – Years 3 and 4 and Tigers
Wednesday 8th October - Years 5 and 6

*There will be no after school clubs running during this week.
Our Year 3 pupils continue to settle in well to life at Oatlands Junior School, including the new routine of drop off and pick up. Please do continue to speak with SLT or your child’s class teacher if there are any problems that you would like us to be aware of. We are committed to working in partnership with you, to ensure your child has a settled and happy start to the school day.
Staffing News
I am delighted to welcome Mr Nathan Charles to the Oatlands Junior School teaching team. Mr Charles will be teaching PE and Computing across the school. He is passionate about sports and is currently starting to organise a programme of after school sports clubs which will begin soon. You will receive further information about these over the next couple of weeks, if you are interested in your child taking part.
Brass Brigade
Our Year 5 Tigers are enjoying their weekly Brass Brigade music lessons, especially when they have all been issued with a brass instrument to learn how to play at home. I am looking forward to listening to the performance later this term. Thank you for supporting your child at home.
Keeping our children safe
Yesterday we celebrated the delivery of 20mph across southwest Harrogate.
Fantastic to mark this milestone with school children, headteachers & educators, residents, North Yorkshire Highways, and Harrogate & Knaresborough Councillors, many of whom were involved in making this happen.
Delighted to have been joined by @ynymayor Mayor for York & North Yorkshire David Skaith & Cllr Malcom Taylor, North Yorkshire Executive Member for Highways & Transport.
Delivered by @northyorksc the scheme brings 20mph across 200 streets creating a safer environment for school children, community and all road users, in an area surrounding St Aidan’s Church of England High School, Oatlands Infant School, Oatlands Junior, School, St John Fisher's Catholic High School and Harrogate College.
Thank you for your continued support.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
