End of Term Message from Mrs Scarth

Dear parents /carers,

Well done and farewell to Year 6

I would like to firstly congratulate our Year 6 leavers. They have been a wonderful group of children who have achieved so many successes throughout their time at Oatlands, including their SATS results. A fantastic set of results and above national average (see summary table below). We are very proud of how hard Year 6 worked throughout the year, rising to the SATS challenges with positivity and determination. Well done Year 6 and those pupils who received special awards in the Y6 Leavers’ Service yesterday. They have enjoyed a memorable final week with Woodland Days and the Leavers’ Disco. We wish them all the very best at their new secondary schools and in all their future endeavours. We will miss you all!

Staffing

I would also like to thank all the staff who are leaving at the end of term. Miss Marchais is retiring from her long school career today.  Since joining OJS, she has taught French and supported pupils in the classroom. A dedicated and hardworking member of our team and we all wish her a long and happy retirement! Mrs Stockton will also return in September as Mrs Housley, as she is getting married in the summer holidays. We wish her a fabulous wedding day. In September we welcome two new Learning and Teaching Assistants to the OJS team: Miss Wilson and Mrs Horne who will be supporting pupils in class.

A polite reminder that our Instagram is for sharing celebrations and not a platform for parents/carers/followers to air complaints or negative comments about our school. Please do contact your child’s class teacher or me if there is something you are unhappy about, so that we can work together to resolve any issue. Thank you.

 

Parent / Carer Helpers

A huge thank you to all our parent helpers who have supported our pupils in school or accompanied classes on trips. It really does make a difference, and I really appreciate your time and generosity.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our PTA for another year of fantastic activities and fund raising. Thank you so much, your work is hugely appreciated by the whole school community.

 

To you, our wonderful parents and carers. It really is a partnership, and I appreciate all your support throughout this year, especially time that you give to help with trips, sporting events and visiting school to share your expertise with the children.

 

2025 has been incredibly successful, especially receiving our outstanding Ofsted report earlier this year. This is not possible without the amazing team we have at Oatlands Junior and the delightful children we are fortunate to teach:
