World Book Day - Thursday 5th March 2026



As you will already know, this year is the Year of Reading and we are looking forward to this year’s World Book Day on Thursday 5th March. If your child is keen to dress up as a book character, they are most welcome to – we love seeing their enthusiasm and creativity! However, there is no pressure to do this; if they prefer not to, they should wear their school uniform as normal.



There will be lots of enjoyable reading and book-related activities planned for the day so we would encourage pupils to bring in any favourite books on the day to share and talk about with their classmates.

Scholastic Book Fair – 10th - 16th March 2026



We are also excited about the arrival of our annual Scholastic Book Fair which will be here from Tues 10th – Mon 16th March.



We hope you and you children will visit during the week as there will be lots of exciting new titles to choose from. As usual, the book fair will take place in the Y6 corridor, outside Flamingos classroom. Please enter and leave through the Y6 doors off the playground NOT via reception.

If possible, please bring correct cash or pay using the online payment QR code at the book fair. You will need to have your card with you as the online payment system does not yet recognise ApplePay or equivalent.

Your child will have brought home their £1 World Book Day voucher which can be used to get £1 off your purchases from the book fair.



This has always been a huge success, thanks to your generosity – last year your purchases have earned the school over £700 worth of credits to buy new titles for our book corners.
