Remembrance Assembly at Oatlands Junior School with Brigadier Crossland

Oatlands Junior School was honored to welcome Brigadier Crossland on Friday, 8th November, to lead a special Remembrance Assembly. The assembly focused on the history and significance of the poppy and other symbols of remembrance for those who have fallen in conflicts. Children participated in a one-minute silence, reflecting on the importance of honoring and remembering the bravery of those who served. Year 6 children read the poem In Flanders Fields by John McCrae and explained the meaning of different poppies and symbols used.

After the assembly, Brigadier Crossland lay a poppy wreath with the children on behalf of the school, commemorating the sacrifices made by servicemen and women.

We are grateful to Brigadier Crossland for his continued support and for taking the time to engage with our students on this important occasion.
