Start of Term Letter from Mrs Scarth - Spring 1
Posted 5th March 2025
Welcome Back!
School Closure and Arbor In-App Messaging I would like to thank Mr Rowniki (site supervisor) and staff for their tireless efforts to ensure school has been safe this week- creating paths, gritting and clearing the turning circle/carpark. Closing school due to snow/ice is never an easy decision, but the safety is at the centre of all considerations. I am incredibly grateful for all the emails and messages of support that I have received over the past week.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation with later starts and staggered finishes to the school day. School will be open on Monday 13th January at 8:55am, but as the temperatures are still forecast to be cold over the weekend, the ice and snow will probably not start to melt until next week. With that, please do take care on your journey into school and arrive when you safely can. The playground will unlikely change over the weekend and so we will have a staggered finish (as yesterday and today) and then reassess on Tuesday. I will keep you all updated. With that, can I please encourage you to install Arbor In-App messaging onto your mobile phones, as this is our main way of communicating with you quickly. See attached guidance for your reference, if you haven’t done so already. Thank you.
The Half Term Ahead
Spring Term Calendar We have lots of exciting things planned for this term and I have attached the 2025 Spring Term calendar of events, for your reference. The Spring term curriculum overviews are also on the school website for each year group: https://www.oatlandsjunior.co.uk/curriculum/curriculum/spring/
We always welcome parent/carer volunteers to help with any school trip or into school to read with children. If any of the topics for next term are of a particular interest to you, then please contact your child’s class teacher. It is always great to have parents enrich our curriculum, sharing their knowledge and skills associated with their profession or interests.
A reminder that our weekly news and information is shared through the school website. This is an accessible and convenient way of keeping up-to-date with school news.
Please do contact your child’s class teacher or me if there is something you are unhappy about, so that we can work together to resolve any issue. Thank you.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Estelle Scarth
