The Return of the BIKE BUS! Friday 14th February

Join Us for Bike Bus Friday!

We are excited to inform you that Oatlands Infant and Junior School's next Bike Bus is Friday 14th February! Once again organised in partnership with our local Road Action Group - Oatlands Road Safety & Active Travel Campaign and Sustrans - a charity that creates cycle routes - and Oatlands Infants School to set up a safe route. We will be supported by our team of trained marshals.

Every child participating in the event needs to be accompanied by an adult to help with supervision along the entire route.

Families will meet on the Stray at Slingsby Walk (by Stray Rein/St James's Drive) at 08:10am, ready to depart at 08:20am. Children and adults can bring their bikes or scooters. We'll cycle and scoot together as a group (although adults can jog / walk alongside if needed) to Oatlands Playing Fields, with trained marshals accompanying us the whole time, where the Infant School pupils will stop off. We will continue with the Junior School pupils and marshals, on to the Junior School for the final stop on the route. I have attached a map of the journey on a poster for reference. We'd love to have a huge turnout, even if the weather is poor!

Please check your children’s bikes / scooters and helmets are in working order before attending. You'll also want suitable footwear, coats and gloves - we would recommend brighter colours and / or hi-vis clothing, especially in the dark winter mornings. Marshals will be wearing hi-vis vests and will be signposted before the ride starts.
